Nourish To Flourish!

We keep hearing about self-care but we rarely pause to really think about it. And sometimes we deny this care to ourselves because of time management issues or even due to the feeling that we don't deserve it, well, guess what? You deserve it!

Self-esteem and self-care go side by side. Stop for a moment to reflect on the fact that self-care is not selfish, and to realize your best qualities and your merit.

There are easy ways to incorporate self-care into your days, this will improve your well-being and productivity.

Drink more water! That's right, keeping hydrated will take you a long way in feeling good and energized throughout the day. Dehydration can lead to tiredness, headaches, and reduce concentration levels. Invest in a reusable water bottle, this way you will keep track of how much water you drink and can take it with you anywhere. Plus it's eco-friendly.

Feeling stressed? Just breathe... Taking some deep breaths helps to calm the nervous system and release tension. Another thing that might help is to unplug and do a little break until you feel more grounded. Take a short walk or just allow yourself to be in the moment.

Learn to say no, self-care is also about setting boundaries and acknowledge your limits. When someone tries to delegate a task to you, think before replying. Make some questions to yourself, Do I have the time? Can another person do this? Do I need or want to do it?

Learn to say yes, we often tend to deny ourselves things that are good to us because we are afraid or believe that we are not worth it. There is no harm in accepting good into our lives. These little treats will boost your mood and self-esteem. So go ahead and indulge yourself once in a while.

Learn and grow with your mistakes, sometimes errors leave us feeling ashamed or discouraged. Mistakes are not necessarily bad, they are part of a learning process. Don't ignore or dwell on them, just recognize them and think of how you can succeed the next time. As Samuel Beckett put it "Try again. Fail again. Fail better.".

Treat yourself as you would treat a friend, this is an eye-opening method. Sometimes we are kind of mean towards ourselves with a sharp inner-critic, when that happens just ask yourself: Would I speak like this with a friend? The answer will most likely be, no. So why do that to yourself?

Spend more time with your loved ones, family, and friends. These connections will make you stronger and resilient. Knowing that someone cares and it's there for you is one of the most comforting feelings, and the best part is that you also care and are there for them which is very rewarding. It's a win-win relationship.

Don't wait until you reach a breaking point, show up for yourself, and start practicing self-care today!
