How to Maximize Your Motivation

In this world of distractions, it is important to maximize one's motivation and keep the eye on our values and goals or intentions. One can do this by understanding their values, the reason why they are accomplishing something and what they desire to achieve. When we achieve a goal aligned with our values we experience true fulfillment and the reward is sweeter.

Let's start with the values, they are the foundation of our lives and they influence how we make decisions and live our lives. They are an important part of our identity and shape who we are. However, our values are not set in stone, they can change with time and this is why it is so important to revisit our values once in a while, to ensure our actions and goals are congruent with our values. There are different types of values such as personal, professional, spiritual and cultural values. These values can be used to guide us in making decisions and living meaningful lives.

They are the guiding principles that determine what is important to you, the foundation for making decisions in your life. The key to making better decisions is to identify your values and then prioritize them. Make a list in order of importance. This way, you will know which values to put first when making decisions, that will have a greater and more positive impact on your life. If our intentions are aligned with our values we have a better chance of keeping and increasing motivation.

Motivation is the driving force behind human actions. It is an internal state that drives a person to do something. Motivation can be broken down into two types: intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation occurs when someone does something because they find it interesting or enjoyable, while extrinsic motivation happens when someone does something to get some external reward like money or praise. Or when we do something because we know it's good for us even if we don't feel like it, and it's aligned with our goals.

Discover your why. In today's world, it is all too easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind. There are so many distractions that we don't even realize how much time has flown by. This is why it is important to take a step back and think about what we want our life to look like, this is a motivator factor. Once you know your WHY, you can set goals for yourself that will help you get there.

Be realistic and as specific as possible with your goals or intentions. Break your goals into actionable tasks and recognize some goals that can take years to achieve. Track your progress to stay motivated on your journey.

Also, don't forget to give yourself the praise you deserve or another reward after accomplishing a milestone for an extra motivation boost. It can be anything, from getting a new crystal jewelry to dinner with friends or a spa day.
