5 challenging questions that you should ask yourself

It is important to take care of ourselves with clarity, respect, and honesty. The answers to these questions will help you have a better understanding of yourself and build up your path to self-love, self-esteem, and ultimately success. Check out the questions that can make all the difference.

1 - What is it that I truly desire?

We often avoid thinking too much about what we want in life, be it related to our profession, relationships, or personal goals. This is usually because we are afraid that our desires may be unattainable, which may cause us anguish. However, it is important to face our fears and think about what we truly want without worrying too much. And, we must take responsibility for our own decisions and choices. Putting our goals on paper is the first step towards achieving them. We should write about our personal and professional aspirations, but also stay grounded and realistic. Black Obsidian crystal is said to help with grounding and goal setting, therefore it's a great companion for this stage. Writing a diary can also be cathartic. It helps us understand and accept ourselves.

2 – Do I worry too much about what others think?

It is natural and beneficial to pay attention to the needs and feelings of others since we are all social beings. However, constantly modifying our behavior to meet the expectations of others can become unhealthy and detrimental to our well-being.

3 – Is it hard for me to decline or say 'no' to something or someone?

Is it common to have family, colleagues, bosses, and acquaintances making requests from you, and your response is usually yes, even if it leads to exhaustion? If all your energy goes towards others and you feel depleted, this only means that what may have started as an act of kindness, companionship, and solidarity, can become an oppressive experience for you when you feel obliged to comply with the requests of others. When you are unable to say 'No, I can't, I won't…' and feel obliged to do something you don't want to do, it can create resentment and frustration. And these negative feelings can create dents in your self-esteem.

4 – Am I ready to face failure?

Remember, it is not about the fall but rather about getting up after each fall. Failure is inevitable, don't let it stop you, get up, shake it off, and learn from it. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

5 – Am I feeling like a fraud?

Some people feel uncomfortable with compliments. Perfectionists are never satisfied, and some suffer from 'imposter syndrome'. These people feel they can never do enough to be recognized. Lack of recognition can make them feel like impostors. Are you one of those people? If so, it's time to work on your self-confidence. One way to do it is to celebrate accomplishments.
